Deputy Project Head Underground Mining

Location: Dariba, Rajasthan, India Employment Type: Full-Time Experience: 1520 Years Industry: Underground Metal Mining About the Role SK Khetan Infra Projects is looking for an experienced and results-driven Deputy Project Head Underground Mining to lead large-scale mechanized underground mining operations at Hindustan Zinc Limited (HZL), Dariba. The ideal candidate will be a strong mining professional with proven leadership experience, deep technical expertise in underground metal mining, and the ability to drive safe, efficient, and profitable project execution. Key Responsibilities Project Leadership & Execution Lead end-to-end underground mining operations covering mine development, production, and underground infrastructure.Plan and execute project activities to achieve production targets, timelines, quality, and cost objectives.Monitor project performance, productivity, resource utilization, and operational KPIs. Underground Mining Operations Drive operational excellence across drilling, blasting, mucking, haulage, and transportation.Optimize mining methods, equipment utilization, manpower deployment, and production cycles.Implement modern mining technologies and best practices to improve productivity and efficiency. Safety, Health & Environment Establish and reinforce a strong Safety-First culture across all project operations.Ensure compliance with DGMS regulations, statutory requirements, and SHE policies.Lead safety audits, risk assessments, incident prevention initiatives, and corrective actions. Client & Stakeholder Management Act as a key point of contact with Hindustan Zinc Limited.Build strong relationships with the client, vendors, contractors, consultants, and regulatory authorities.Ensure effective communication, issue resolution, and client satisfaction. Team Leadership Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team comprising mining engineers, mine managers, supervisors, operators, and support functions.Build a high-performance culture focused on safety, productivity, accountability, and continuous improvement. Commercial & Resource Management Support project budgeting, cost control, profitability, and commercial performance.Manage deployment and utilization of HEMM, underground mining equipment, manpower, and other critical resources.Coordinate procurement, maintenance, and resource planning. Reporting & Compliance Prepare and review MIS reports, operational dashboards, project progress reports, forecasts, and performance analyses.Ensure timely and accurate statutory, technical, and management documentation. Qualifications & Experience B.E./B.Tech. in Mining Engineering from a recognized institution.Valid First Class Mines Managers Certificate of Competency (Unrestricted) DGMS is mandatory.1520 years of progressive experience in mechanized underground metal mining.Proven experience in a senior leadership/project management role in large-scale underground mining operations.Experience with a leading mining contractor or major underground mining project will be preferred.Strong knowledge of underground mining methods, mine planning, ventilation, strata control, drilling & blasting, production management, and mine safety.
