About the role
As an Embedded Software DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining an embedded software DevOps pipeline to enable continuous integration, continuous testing, continuous delivery, and continuous monitoring. Your role will involve working with project stakeholders to incorporate build toolchains and automated test methodologies into a nightly build system. You will manage multiple variant configurations and ensure the completeness of test case deployment in alignment with the design verification plan. Key Responsibilities: - Develop a software configuration management system using version control packages like SVN/GIT - Set up build servers for CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins - Script automation for cross-platform interfaces between build server, version control systems, and test systems - Understand software unit test flows - Have exposure to automotive control units and associated testing hardware such as NI TestStand, Vector vTest, or other tools - Manage the certification of all software releases and integrate the DevOps pipeline with the PLM system and other relevant databases/servers - Serve as the primary contact person for software deployment issues at control unit manufacturing, vehicle manufacturing, or field - Interact closely with service and quality teams to address deployment issues and provide feedback to development teams for process refinement - Collaborate with enterprise quality teams to identify root causes and resolutions for any field issues related to released control units - Expand the set of test cases that can be run as regression tests in the DevOps pipeline continually Qualifications Required: - Proficiency in software configuration management tools like SVN/GIT - Experience with setting up build servers using Jenkins - Scripting skills for automation tasks - Knowledge of software unit testing methodologies - Familiarity with automotive control units and testing hardware - Exposure to embedded software build using tools like Scons/make - Understanding of variant management and CAN log interpretation - Prior experience with cloud-based software delivery systems for FOTA - Knowledge of ASPICE/CMMi standards In summary, as an Embedded Software DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the software development and deployment processes, collaborating with various teams to deliver high-quality software products efficiently.
