About the Role We are seeking a Scala Developer (TypeLevel) for a short-term full-time role with the possibility of transitioning into full-time employment. This position focuses on developing and maintaining a cloud-based microservice architecture, supporting hospital system integrations, and collaborating with React frontend teams. What You'll Be Doing Develop and maintain applications using Scala (PlayFramework) Work on containerized deployments (Linux, Podman) within customer environments Collaborate with frontend developers to enhance the React UI Integrate with hospital systems (Dicom, HL7) Contribute to Python ML-related components Must-Have Skills Scala (PlayFramework) – primary development skill Python – working knowledge to support ML-related tasks React UI – comfortable modifying existing codebase Linux and containerization (Podman) Hospital system integrations (Dicom, HL7) What You'll Achieve in Your First 90 Days Gain a strong understanding of the existing Scala PlayFramework system Contribute to containerized deployments on customer sites Deliver updates or fixes to the React UI At Smart Working, you'll never be just another remote hire.
