Mainframe Engineer, India - Remote skills: IBM z/OS, JCL, COBOL, VSAM, DB2 Job Summary We are seeking a Mainframe Engineer with 4 6 years of experience supporting and maintaining IBM mainframe applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in z/OS, JCL, COBOL, VSAM, DB2, batch processing, and Rocket Software tools. This role involves production support, troubleshooting, data integration, performance optimization, and modernization initiatives. Responsibilities Support and maintain applications running on IBM Mainframe (z/OS). Monitor and manage batch jobs, job scheduling, and production systems. Troubleshoot and resolve abends, job failures, and production issues. Manage and optimize batch processing using JCL. Work with Rocket Software tools for data access, file management, and modernization. Perform data validation, profiling, and quality checks. Support data movement and integration between mainframe and modern platforms. Analyze and improve batch job performance. Work with VSAM, GDG, flat files, and DB2 databases. Ensure compliance with security, governance, and data protection standards. Collaborate with business teams, data engineers, and project stakeholders. Participate in Agile ceremonies and sprint-based delivery activities.
