About the role
Role Overview: As a Senior Quality Assurance Automation Engineer with 5+ years of experience, your role will involve ensuring the quality, stability, and reliability of digital products. You will be responsible for designing effective test strategies, building automation coverage, and supporting fast-paced releases by collaborating with product, development, and business teams. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain manual and automated test cases for web and API-based applications. - Perform functional, regression, smoke, sanity, integration, and exploratory testing. - Create and maintain UI automation frameworks and API automation suites. - Validate end-to-end business flows across ecommerce systems. - Collaborate with various teams to ensure quality across the SDLC. - Analyze requirements, identify test scenarios, and define test coverage. - Log, track, and retest defects with attention to detail. - Support UAT, release validation, and production smoke testing. - Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement. - Improve automation stability, maintainability, and execution efficiency. - Work with CI/CD pipelines for automated test execution. - Provide test reports, quality metrics, and release readiness updates. - Support mobile testing and automation efforts. Qualification Required: - Minimum 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance / Software Testing. - Strong background in manual testing and automation testing. - Hands-on experience in UI automation and API automation. - Good understanding of test design techniques, STLC, and defect lifecycle. - Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. - Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills. - Ability to work independently and take ownership of quality outcomes. - Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. (Equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.) Additional Company Details: The company prefers candidates with experience in the retail/ecommerce domain. Hands-on experience in mobile automation for Android and/or iOS, experience with payment gateways, order management systems, inventory systems, or pricing/promotions engines are considered good to have. Familiarity with performance testing, basic security testing, test strategy creation, and QA process improvement is also beneficial.
