Cyber Security Engineer

Softmason Technologies is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cyber Security Engineer to help protect our organization's systems, networks, and applications from cyber threats. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in vulnerability assessment, security monitoring, incident response, and implementing security best practices to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of business data. Key Responsibilities Monitor, detect, and respond to cybersecurity incidents and security alerts. Perform vulnerability assessments and security risk analysis. Conduct penetration testing and recommend remediation measures. Monitor firewalls, IDS/IPS, antivirus, and endpoint security solutions. Implement and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards. Perform security audits and ensure compliance with industry best practices. Investigate security breaches and prepare incident reports. Manage user access, identity, and access management (IAM). Configure and maintain network security devices. Secure cloud environments such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud. Collaborate with IT teams to implement secure system configurations. Provide cybersecurity awareness training to employees. Maintain documentation related to security controls and incidents. Stay updated on emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies. Required Skills Knowledge of network security, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security. Hands-on experience with vulnerability assessment tools such as Nessus, OpenVAS, or Qualys. Understanding of OWASP Top 10 and web application security. Familiarity with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, QRadar, or ELK). Knowledge of Windows, Linux, and Active Directory security. Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL/TLS, and common networking protocols. Basic scripting knowledge in Python, PowerShell, or Bash is preferred. Experience with cloud security concepts (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Qualification Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related field. Relevant certifications such as CEH, CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA Security, Microsoft Security, AWS Security, or equivalent are preferred. Experience 0–3 years of experience in Cyber Security, Information Security, or Network Security. Experience with Security Operations Center (SOC) activities is an advantage.
