As a Firmware Engineer specializing in Embedded Systems & Hardware Design, your role will involve designing, developing, testing, and maintaining firmware for embedded products and microcontroller-based systems. You will participate in the complete firmware development lifecycle, including requirement analysis, architecture, coding, debugging, integration, testing, and release. Collaboration with hardware teams during board bring-up, hardware validation, and debugging activities will be crucial. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing low-level drivers and middleware for peripherals, optimizing embedded applications for low power consumption, memory efficiency, and high-performance execution, and ensuring the reliability and responsiveness of firmware for real-time embedded systems. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, test, and maintain firmware for embedded products and microcontroller-based systems - Participate in the complete firmware development lifecycle - Work closely with hardware teams during board bring-up, hardware validation, and debugging activities - Develop low-level drivers and middleware for peripherals - Optimize embedded applications for low power consumption, memory efficiency, and high-performance execution - Develop firmware for real-time embedded systems with a focus on reliability and responsiveness - Analyze firmware issues, identify root causes, and provide efficient fixes - Work on bootloaders, startup code, linker scripts, memory mapping, and embedded build systems - Support hardware/software integration and perform functional, regression, and system-level testing - Prepare technical documentation including design documents, test reports, and release notes - Ensure compliance with coding standards, software quality processes, and development best practices - Participate in code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives Qualifications Required: - 3+ years of experience in Embedded Firmware Development or related embedded domain - Strong programming skills in Embedded C - Good understanding of Embedded Systems concepts and microcontroller architecture - Hands-on experience in board bring-up and hardware debugging - Strong knowledge of Analog and Digital Electronics fundamentals - Experience in firmware development and embedded software testing - Familiarity with embedded software build processes and debugging techniques - Experience working with communication peripherals and interfaces - Knowledge of interrupt handling, timers, memory management, and low-level driver development - Understanding of real-time systems and embedded software architecture - Familiarity with microcontroller peripherals such as ADC, PWM, DMA, Timers/Counters, GPIO, UART, SPI, and I2C - Experience optimizing firmware for low power and performance-critical applications - Ability to debug firmware and hardware integration issues effectively Preferred Skills (Good to Have): - Experience with Capacitive Touch Sensing solutions - Knowledge of linker scripts and memory mapping - Experience with embedded toolchains such as GCC, IAR Embedded Workbench, ARM Toolchain - Familiarity with RTOS concepts and multi-threaded embedded applications - Exposure to ARM Cortex-M based microcontrollers - Experience with debugging tools such as JTAG, SWD, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes - Understanding of embedded communication protocols and interfaces - Knowledge of power optimization techniques in embedded systems - Exposure to firmware validation and automated testing methodologies - Experience working in product development environments This job offers an exciting opportunity for experienced Firmware Engineers to work on cutting-edge embedded systems and hardware design projects.
