About the role
As a Senior Embedded Software Developer with 7+ years of experience in Firmware development with RTOS, your role will involve the following key responsibilities: - Design, develop, maintain, and enhance embedded firmware for real-time applications. - Develop software solutions for microcontroller and processor-based embedded systems. - Analyze system requirements and convert them into software architecture and detailed designs. - Implement reliable, efficient, and scalable firmware solutions using Embedded C and C++. - Participate in the complete software development lifecycle including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, integration, and maintenance. For RTOS and Real-Time Application Development, you will be responsible for: - Developing and optimizing applications using RTOS platforms such as FreeRTOS, Embedded Linux, or other POSIX-compliant operating systems. - Designing and implementing multi-threaded and multi-process applications. - Developing task scheduling, synchronization, inter-task communication, and resource management mechanisms. - Implementing and optimizing real-time performance requirements and system responsiveness. - Analyzing and resolving real-time performance bottlenecks. Your responsibilities will also include Device Driver Development: - Designing, developing, and maintaining low-level device drivers and board support packages (BSPs). - Working extensively with communication peripherals and interfaces including UART, SPI, I2C, Timers, and GPIOs. In the area of Serial Communication Interfaces, you will: - Develop and validate hardware abstraction layers (HAL) and middleware components. - Perform firmware integration with hardware platforms. You will collaborate closely with hardware engineering teams during board bring-up and product development for Hardware-Software Integration, interfacing firmware with sensors, communication modules, processors, and peripheral devices. Additionally, you will be involved in debugging and troubleshooting activities, performing root-cause analysis, and debugging of complex embedded system issues using tools such as JTAG Debuggers, Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, and Multimeters. For Software Quality and Testing, you will: - Develop unit tests, integration tests, and system-level validation procedures. - Ensure software quality through code reviews, static analysis, and testing activities. - Support continuous integration and continuous deployment processes, maintaining compliance with coding standards and development best practices. As part of Collaboration and Documentation, you are expected to: - Work effectively within Agile, Scrum, Sprint, and Waterfall development methodologies. - Collaborate with firmware, hardware, validation, systems, and product management teams. - Prepare technical documentation including design specifications, test reports, and user documentation. - Contribute to knowledge sharing and mentoring of junior engineers.
