Job Description:
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Design and develop body exterior components like garnish, cowl top, wiper, emblems, spoiler, room mirror, door mirror, washer system and glasses using Catia V5 software and Enovia DPM. Participate in benchmarking of various competitor vehicles.
Design high quality layouts/concepts considering functional requirements, Cost and weight. Support Product In Charge (PIC) for release of high quality drawings meeting all specification. Coordinate meetings with supplier/guest engineers and cross function teams.
Solve design related issues and calculate cost for design component. Support both chief and project leader by meeting the project schedule.
Use CATIA V5/V6 to create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings for automotive exterior parts, and utilizing PLM software to store data Create Technical Parts Specifications using PowerPoint & Excel Benchmark automotive exterior construction methods Evaluate styling concept sketches and clay models to conduct feasibility of exterior construction Controlling vehicle packaging of exterior components Create engineering cost estimates for exterior part designs.
