About the role
You will be responsible for monitoring global applications and infrastructure using Datadog dashboards, events, and alerts. Your duties will include creating, configuring, and optimizing Datadog monitors, alerting rules, SLOs, and dashboards. In addition, you will work closely with engineering and application teams to define effective alert thresholds and reduce noise. It will be your responsibility to investigate and triage monitoring alerts, ensuring timely escalation to appropriate technical teams. You will also need to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for improving monitoring coverage. Maintaining documentation for monitoring standards, alerting guidelines, and escalation processes will be part of your role. Supporting on-call incident processes as needed, partnering with cross-functional teams to onboard new applications/services into Datadog, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen global monitoring posture are also key responsibilities. This role is based in the Hyderabad office, with potential hybrid flexibility depending on business needs. It may also require occasional extended monitoring during critical events or high-severity incidents. Qualifications & Required Skills: - Seeking a highly motivated Monitoring Analyst with hands-on experience in Datadog, including alert monitoring, alert configuration, dashboard development, event correlation, and proactive application monitoring aligned with client requirements. - 2-4 years of experience working with modern monitoring/observability platforms, with preference given to Datadog. - Hands-on experience with Datadog monitors, dashboards, service maps, logs, and APM. - Proficiency in configuring alert thresholds, detection rules, and anomaly-based alerts. - Understanding of events, metrics, logs, and traces. - Experience with SaaS-based application environments and cloud platforms, with preference given to AWS/Azure/GCP. - Basic knowledge of Linux/Windows servers, networking fundamentals, and application behavior. - Experience contributing to incident response processes is a plus.
