About the role
Job Summary (in list format): - Serve as the senior technical authority for the Kafka development pod, bridging high-level requirements and code execution. - Lead the evaluation and assessment of Confluent streaming requirements for new or modified pipelines. - Provide developer-centric guidance for complex event streaming use cases. - Drive the design and development of audit and retry mechanisms within Kafka-based applications. - Enforce strict schema governance using Schema Registry, managing schema evolution and compatibility policies. - Own the creation and maintenance of Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation in Confluence. - Oversee and execute minor and major Kafka cluster upgrades, including rollback testing in staging environments. - Act as the final escalation point for troubleshooting and resolving complex, systemic bugs through root cause analysis. - Mentor developers and ensure adherence to architectural standards for Kafka stream pipelines. - Maintain hands-on expertise in Confluent Kafka architecture, including brokers, Zookeeper/KRaft, and Schema Registry. - Utilize strong experience with Kafka Connect, KSQL, and KStreams. - Develop Kafka producers and consumers using Java/Scala or Python. - Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated testing for streaming applications. - Design and support high-availability, fault-tolerant streaming systems.
