About the role
As an experienced Monitoring and Observability System Architect, your role will involve designing the architecture of network monitoring & observability solutions within the overall Service Assurance systems landscape. You will be responsible for defining standards and best practices for monitoring and observability. Collaboration with business teams to gather business requirements related to (auto-)discovery, collect, alerting, correlation, AIOps, dashboard, and reporting solutions will also be a key aspect of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will work on integrating and optimizing the use of Blueplanet UAA and Splunk for cross-domain data correlation, alerting, predictive features, and dashboarding. In this role, you will need to possess strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative mindset. Your adaptability to changing environments, demonstration of leadership qualities, and proactive approach to continuous improvement will be crucial. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with international teams across various locations. Responsibilities: - Design the architecture of network monitoring & observability solutions. - Define standards and best practices for monitoring and observability. - Collaborate with business teams to gather business requirements. - Integrate and optimize the use of Blueplanet UAA and Splunk. Qualifications: - Minimum of 10 years of experience is required for this senior position. - At least 5 years of demonstrated success as a technical leader in Monitoring and Observability. Required Skills: - Proficiency with Splunk and BluePlanet UAA (or other industry standard monitoring and observability tools). - Strong knowledge of cloud environments (Azure (preferred), GCP, AWS). - Familiarity with microservices architectures and containerization technologies (Kubernetes). - Deep understanding of data collection and monitoring protocols. - Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD practices. - Experience with data collection and monitoring protocols (SNMP, NetFlow / sFlow, Syslog, REST API, Messaging bus (e.g. kafka), OpenTelemetry, etc.). - Understanding of network services architecture (SDWAN, Cloud Connectivity, MPLS, etc.). Preferred Skills: - Strong problem-solving abilities. - Excellent communication skills. - Collaborative mindset. - Adaptability to changing environments. - Demonstrated leadership qualities. - Proactive approach to continuous improvement.
