About the role
Key Responsibilities: Support system integration, diagnostic activities for engine Controls applications. Understand overall engine control system architecture, including software, calibration, diagnostics, sensors, actuators, and aftertreatment interfaces where applicable. Perform calibration tuning and optimization to meet performance, reliability, emissions, and customer requirements. Plan and execute validation activities in engine test cells, test benches, and field or application environments. Analyze test data, identify abnormal system behavior, and recommend corrective actions. Troubleshoot system-level issues related to controls, calibration, software integration, communication, diagnostics, and engine performance. Support root cause analysis for test cell, field, and customer-reported issues using structured problem-solving methods. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve integration issues and track actions to closure. Support software builds verification, calibration release checks, and regression testing as required. Prepare clear technical reports, issue summaries, calibration notes, and validation documentation. Participate in design reviews, calibration reviews, DVP&R discussions, FMEA reviews, and project status meetings. Ensure work is completed in alignment with project timelines, quality expectations, and engineering processes. Skills and Experience Required BE/B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Automotive (Preferred ME/MTech/M.Sc. in Electronics/Electrical) Experience Range: 5 to 7 Years Good understanding of engine control systems, calibration, diagnostics, and system integration concepts. Ability to understand Engine Controls requirements and translate them into system-level actions. Strong troubleshooting skills for resolving controls, calibration, software, communication, and engine performance issues. Hands-on experience with calibration and data analysis tools such as INSITE, Calterm, CANalyzer, CANape, MATLAB, Simulink, or equivalent tools is preferred. Ability to analyze logs, test data, fault codes, and system behavior to identify root causes. Knowledge of sensors, actuators, ECU communication, engine subsystems, and diagnostics is preferred. Understanding of validation processes, test planning, DVP&R, FMEA, and engineering change management. Strong documentation skills for preparing test reports, issue summaries, calibration notes, and project updates. Good communication and collaboration skills to work with global and cross-functional teams. Self-driven, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Must have skills: Troubleshooting system-level issues Integration & Calibration of software for Engine Controls system integration for engine control systems across Engine Controls & Industrial Applications bench level Testing Handling queries from customer Knowledge of Harness wiring Location: Pune, Maharashtra
