About the role
As a Biostatistician/Research Associate for a project focusing on gestational weight gain (GWG) patterns among Indian women, your role will involve the following key responsibilities: - Supporting a large multi-centre pooled analysis of GWG and maternal-newborn outcomes in India - Data harmonization and management of individual participant data from multiple cohorts - Statistical analysis using advanced epidemiological methods - Preparation of reports and manuscripts - Collaboration with investigators across institutions Candidates for this position should possess the following qualifications and skills: - M.Sc in Statistics/Biostatistics - Experience in biostatistics, epidemiology, data analysis using R/Stata, and scientific writing - Prior experience with longitudinal data, mixed-effects models, IPD meta-analysis, or maternal and child health research will be an advantage In addition to the key responsibilities and preferred qualifications, the project aims to evaluate the applicability of existing international GWG standards, identify trajectories of weight gain during pregnancy, and assess their relationship with outcomes such as preterm birth, low birth weight, small-for-gestational-age births, gestational diabetes, and hypertensive disorders. Findings from this analysis will contribute to developing evidence-based, India-specific recommendations for monitoring and optimizing gestational weight gain during pregnancy.
