About the role
Job Summary: ROLE OVERVIEW We are looking for a motivated and technically curious Junior IoT Application Engineer to join our engineering team. This role is suited for candidates with up to 3 years of experience who have a foundational understanding of IoT systems, embedded hardware, and industrial communication protocols. The engineer will assist in designing, deploying, and testing IoT solutions for industrial applications such as compressors, CNC machines, motors, and HVAC systems. Role & responsibilities Assist in installation and commissioning of IoT sensors, gateways, and edge devices on industrial machines - Support configuration of communication protocols including Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, MQTT, and OPC-UA - Perform basic wiring, termination, and field calibration of sensors such as pressure transducers, RTDs, and current transformers - Assist in connecting field devices to IoT platforms including AWS IoT Core, Azure IoT Hub, or on-premise SCADA systems - Develop and test data pipelines from field sensors to cloud dashboards under guidance - Create and maintain basic Node-RED flows or Python scripts for data acquisition and forwarding - Document sensor installation details, tag lists, wiring diagrams, and commissioning reports - Perform site surveys and assist in preparation of tag lists and data point lists for new projects - Support the senior engineering team during factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT) - Monitor deployed systems for data gaps, connectivity issues, and alert anomalies - Coordinate with client site teams for access, permits, and basic troubleshooting REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or Computer Science - Basic understanding of IoT architecture: sensors, gateway, cloud, dashboard - Familiarity with at least one industrial protocol: Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, or MQTT - Basic knowledge of electrical parameters: voltage, current, power, power factor - Ability to read simple electrical wiring diagrams and single-line diagrams - Basic programming skills in Python or JavaScript (Node-RED) - Valuable communication skills and willingness to work at client sites Required Skills: - Hands-on experience with Raspberry Pi, Arduino, or similar development boards - Exposure to any cloud IoT platform: AWS IoT Core, Azure IoT Hub, or Google Cloud IoT - Knowledge of energy meters, pressure transducers, or temperature sensors - Familiarity with Node-RED, MQTT brokers, or InfluxDB - Basic understanding of industrial automation and PLC systems - Experience with tools such as Modbus Poll, MQTT Explorer, or Wireshark Preferred candidate profile B.E./B.Tech in EEE/ECE Job Summary: ROLE OVERVIEW We are looking for a motivated and technically curious Junior IoT Application Engineer to join our engineering team.
