Commissioning Specialist

Your Key Responsibilities Conduct project delivery activities related to Building Commissioning, including LEED-related commissioning, retro-commissioning, and re-commissioning projects. Extensive site visits associated with the delivery of Commissioning services in and around the Markham area with possible one or two-day site visits throughout Eastern Canada. Attend meetings and coordinate work as related to Commissioning services with other disciplines and team members, including mechanical, electrical, structural, civil, building code, building envelope/science, and other specialty services at Stantec. Liaison/coordination with clients, contractors and authorities having jurisdiction Assist with proposal delivery activities related to Building Commissioning, including best practices Commissioning, LEED-related commissioning, retro-commissioning, and re-commissioning projects. Interact with the Commissioning management team to develop strategies and business plans for the expansion of the service line Your Capabilities and Credentials Strong familiarity with construction documentation including drawings and specifications. Interest in buildings, commissioning, energy management, sustainability and construction Desire to divide time between on-site activities and office administrative duties Desire to travel extensively on one-day site visits primarily in Eastern Ontario Ability to work on low-rise rooftops, outdoors throughout the year. Strong understanding of building mechanical controls, especially pertaining to HVAC units. Desire to perform work at high quality standards and to partner with clients to achieve client goals Education and Experience Mechanical Engineering Diploma/Degree with a minimum of 10+ years of commissioning or design experience in mechanical HVAC systems design or maintenance (University diploma preferred but not essential) Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may require travel and include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
