About the role
What You’ll Do
Our geotechnical practitioners who specialize in cold regions and permafrost work collaboratively to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions to our clients and communities on projects Nationally and Globally. As an intermediate geotechnical engineer, you will have the opportunity to: Support the design, analysis, and construction of all types of infrastructure projects, with specific focus cold regions and permafrost areas in Canada. Carry out complex analysis using state of the practice software. Manage and coordinate geotechnical-focused and multidisciplinary project teams, commensurate with your experience and capabilities. Mentor and be mentored by colleagues across a breadth of experience fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and industry partners. Contribute to business development , proposal preparation, and market expansion initiatives. Drive innovation by leading or contributing to digitization initiatives, advanced numerical modeling, market research, and the development of emerging technologies, with a focus on climate change adaptation, and risk and liability reduction. What We’re Looking For: Bachelor’s degree in Geological, Civil, or Geotechnical Engineering (Master’s or PhD an asset). 7+ years of relevant industry experience. Experience in cold regions and permafrost geotechnical design and construction. Knowledge of relevant Canadian and global cold regions and permafrost guidelines and standards, helpful. General knowledge of geotechnical software solutions (GeoStudio™, LeapFrog, Rocscience). Demonstrated ability to work and manage projects independently and on a team. Proactive approach and strong problem-solving skills. Passion for making a positive impact through engineering. Effective communication skills, including report writing and client engagement. Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Commitment to technical excellence and mentorship.
