About the role
Your Capabilities and Credentials Advanced understanding of AutoCAD and proficiency in using it as a drafting/design tool. Requisite knowledge, interpretation, and application of relevant codes, standards, design guidelines, association manuals of practice, and applicable energy codes. Strong understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications. Strong knowledge of process mechanical systems, hydraulics, means and methods, materials, and industry standards. Good oral and written communication skills with the ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought. Strong presentation and interview skills. Ability to prioritize and organize work for multiple concurrent projects. Ability to take direction, follow process and accept feedback and suggestions from Senior Designers and Engineers. General understanding of hydraulics and how piping systems affect fluid flow. Understanding of interfacing with point clouds and use of point cloud software, such as Cintoo or Recap for point cloud hosting preferred but not required. Basic understanding of how Revit and Bentley products interact with and contribute 3D content to AutoCAD designs preferred, but not required. Education and Experience Minimum of 3 years of related work experience in Mechanical Piping Design. Experience with 3D modeling using CAD based software, AutoCAD Plant 3D (or similar AutoCAD based piping and equipment program), Navisworks, BIM360/ACC/Forma (Autodesk Construction Cloud). Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite including excel and SharePoint An associate’s degree or technical certification in a related program is considered preferred. Understanding of Process Mechanical concepts such as equipment, piping, pumps, industrial settings, chemical processing, etc. preferred. Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
