About the role
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Ability to lead a team of engineers working on Substation design, including interdisciplinary coordination.
Experience with site visits, to capture all technical data needed for estimates and execution of related substation expansions.
Capable of producing station one lines, key plans (layouts), conduit plans, lightning, grounding calculations, lighting plans, station typical elevations, and BOMs.
Capable of writing equipment specifications and reviewing vendor drawings.
Ability to develop and maintain good client relationships and be able to demonstrate solid technical ability.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and develop strong internal and external relationships.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
Ability to mentor engineers and designers.
Experience and understanding of AIS and GIS substation designs
Education and Experience:
Registered P.ENG in Canada
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field is required.
Minimum of 15 years of experience in utility HV substation design is required.
Experience with site visits, FAT, to capture all technical data needed for estimates and execution of related substation expansions is preferred.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements, including inclement weather.
