About the role

View original

We create great places and the connections that get people and goods moving—whether by car, bus, train, plane, or their own two feet. Working within the context of the communities we serve, we provide planning, engineering, and infrastructure management services that fit the needs of our clients and improve the overall transportation experience. Join our team and help us keep communities connected.

Your Opportunity

We’re active members of our communities and our work – engineering, architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, surveying, environmental sciences, project management, and project economics – begins at the intersection of community, creativity, and client relationships. Our people remain at the core of what we do.

Whatever the distance, wherever the destination—our designs lead you there. Our Transportation group provides comprehensive planning, design, and engineering services for all phases of airport, bridge, rail, roadway, and transit projects. Join our team and help us keep communities connected.

Our Hamilton office is actively seeking a Transportation Engineering Coop student/Intern. Our group provides consulting services for Class Environmental Assessment, Preliminary Design, and Detail Design projects for public sector clients, including the Ministry of Transportation Ontario and several Ontario Southwest Regions and Municipalities.

Your Key Responsibilities

As a Transportation Engineering Co-op student/Intern in our Hamilton Transportation Group, you will be involved in the planning and design of provincial highways, interchanges, and local municipal roads and assisting our structural engineering group with the inspection and design of bridges and structures. You will be responsible for assisting in the following areas:

Preparing engineering drawings and plans using industry standard drafting principles;

Documenting existing transportation conditions based on interpretation of survey plans and field reconnaissance;

Identifying existing transportation deficiencies based on current design standards;

Planning, preliminary design and detail design of transportation improvement projects; and

Preparing content for reports and proposals.

One address, no account. We’ll tell you when matching roles go live.
