Transportation Engineering Co-op/Intern (Fall/Winter 2026)

Your Key Responsibilities Assist with transportation impact studies, traffic data collection and analysis, report preparation, travel demand modeling, and other technical assignments. Gather traffic data from publicly available sources and through field visits. Analyze traffic data utilizing Microsoft Excel, Python, MySQL, etc. Conduct traffic analyses using HCS, Synchro, and VISSIM. Support travel demand model calibration, validation, and scenario analysis in Cube and TransCAD. Provide support to our roadway design and traffic engineering teams. Perform additional duties of a similar nature and level as assigned. Your Capabilities and Credentials Interested in transportation planning and engineering Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Strong attention to detail Effective team player in fast-paced environments Strong oral, written, interpersonal, and visual communication Familiarity with Python, C++, or Java; additional programming experience is preferred Knowledge of transportation software, including HCS, Synchro, VISSIM, Cube, and TransCAD, is preferred Interest and experience in travel demand model is a plus. Education and Experience Applicants must be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Transportation Planning, City and Regional Planning, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Economics or a related field. Enrollment in an advanced degree program, such as a master’s or Ph.D., is considered a plus. Position will primarily be in an office setting; may require some field work to collect data. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
