Your Opportunity

Stantec's River Services Team delivers stream restoration, geomorphological assessment, watershed studies, environmental assessments, and floodplain analysis across Ontario and Canada. Working alongside specialists in ecology, landscape architecture, hydrogeology, and engineering, we help our clients develop resilient, practical, and sustainable solutions for natural watercourse systems.

We are seeking a Water Resources Engineer or Fluvial Geomorphologist to join our Waterloo, ON team (hybrid work arrangements may be considered). This role is ideal for someone passionate about natural systems, enjoys solving technical challenges, and is motivated to continue developing their expertise and professional skills while working on collaborative, multidisciplinary project teams.

Your Key Responsibilities

As a member of the River Services team, you will contribute to river restoration, fluvial geomorphology, watershed, and water resources projects from planning through implementation. You will apply your technical skills to support project delivery, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and support trusted relationships with clients and regulators. Key responsibilities include:

Undertake technical assessments, modelling, analyses, and detailed design for stream restoration, river engineering, floodplain management, and watershed projects for public and private sector clients.

Lead and participate in field investigations, including geomorphological assessments, environmental monitoring, data collection, and post-construction monitoring.

Prepare technical reports, design briefs, calculations, specifications, and construction drawings to document analyses and support project implementation.

Collaborate with clients, regulatory agencies, and multidisciplinary project teams to support successful project outcomes.

Support the management of project scope, schedule, budgets, and quality to achieve project objectives.

Take ownership of the quality and accuracy of technical and written work product.

Support delegation and coordination of workload amongst team members.

Prepare and contribute to project proposals and budgets.

Provide construction administration, site observations, and implementation support for River Services projects.

Contribute to a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
