Role Description This part-time remote Network Specialist role focuses on maintaining, monitoring, and improving the organizations network infrastructure. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing network devices and services, monitoring performance, and implementing configurations and updates. The Network Specialist will troubleshoot connectivity issues, collaborate with team members to resolve incidents, and document network changes, procedures, and topologies. The role also involves supporting network security measures, such as access control and basic threat mitigation, and contributing to the design and implementation of scalable and reliable network solutions. The Network Specialist will participate in scheduled maintenance windows, assist in planning network upgrades, and provide clear, timely communication about network status and issues. Qualifications Strong skills in Network Administration and Networking, including managing switches, routers, firewalls, and VPNs.Proficiency in Troubleshooting network issues, diagnosing performance problems, and resolving connectivity incidents.Experience with Network Security principles and practices, such as access control, segmentation, and basic threat mitigation.Exposure to Network Design, including planning, implementing, and documenting scalable and resilient network architectures.Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools, and ability to interpret logs and metrics.Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a part-time schedule.Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA or equivalent) or equivalent hands-on experience are highly beneficial.Experience working with cloud or hybrid environments and basic understanding of virtualization and remote access technologies is an advantage.
