JOB Title: Business Intelligence Technical Lead

Location: Madison, WI

Duration : 6+ Months

Job Description:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required, preferably in an analytical field such as Computer Science, Health Informatics, Statistics or Mathematics, however relevant experience will be considered in lieu of education requirement.

Experience in a healthcare or related environment performing database queries, data analysis, database applications, data flow, and program development and interpretation.

Experience querying relational and/or multi-dimensional databases (DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL Server).

Demonstrated skill with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, link workbooks, plug-ins, formulas, etc.)

Working knowledge of statistical methodologies and technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and data reporting techniques.

Basic knowledge of healthcare claims payment systems, medical terminology and industry-standard reimbursement methodologies.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and interpret large data into information that is readily interpretable with attention to details and accuracy.

Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with all levels of management, staff and customers.

Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and self-directed - must be inquisitive and seek answers to complex questions without being prompted.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and ensure timely delivery of analyses and reports.

Demonstrated ability to work with multi-disciplinary groups, including those external to the ETF, and to represent ETF in a professional manner.

Knowledge of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and information security.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic Qualifications mentioned above.

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred, preferably in an analytical field such as Computer Science, Health Informatics, Statistics or Mathematics.

  • 5+ years work experience in a healthcare or related environment performing database queries, data analysis, database applications, data flow, and program development and interpretation.

  • Experience with one or more of the following:

  • Experience querying relational and/or multi-dimensional databases (DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL Server).

  • Experience using query tools (BusinessObjects, Cognos, MS Query or SAS).

  • Knowledge and experience with utilizing data visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau or QlikView.

  • Ability to analyze existing tools and databases and provide software solution recommendations.

  • Advanced knowledge of healthcare claims payment systems, medical terminology and industry-standard reimbursement methodologies.

  • Knowledge of clinical analytics (HEDIS/NCQA).
