Job Title: Design Engineer – Medical Devices
Location: Hyderabad, India
Duration: Full Time
Job Requirement:
Previous work experience in medical instrument design or manufacturing experience with Unigraphics CAD/CAM systems and advanced design applications is required, with a minimum of 3 years of manufacturing engineering experience. Experience in new product development on orthopedic instrument design or manufacturing preferred.
Perform quotes to R&D (cost and lead time) on prototype builds as well as provide design for manufacturability and instrument cost feedback to new product development (NPD) teams as needed.
Brainstorm instrument design concepts with GDC teammates and internal NPD and Front End teams.
The ability to apply advanced knowledge of 2D, 3D modeling, drafting, layout techniques, GD&T, ASME, and engineering calculations.
Knowledgeable in mechanisms
The ability to apply knowledge of complex machining and turning applications to meet tool, fixture, and product design requirements. Basic knowledge of metal forming is a preferred.
Knowledge of six sigma and lean methodologies are a plus.
Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) is desirable.
Must be hands-on and able to manage/support multiple key technical projects, including advance manufacturing research and feasibility studies
Knowledge of GMPs, ISO 13485 Design Control, and manufacturing process qualification requirements as related to medical devices is preferred.
Knowledge of CNC machining.
Utilizing six sigma and lean methodologies and knowledge, where applicable and once formally trained.
Identify and implement methods to effectively streamline and optimize our NPD process.
Bachelor’s of Engineering degree required in Mechanical, Material Science, Biomedical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering. Advanced degree such as MS Engineering and/or MBA is a plus.
