Design Services Mechanical Engineer (Junior). Communication skills very important.
PDM cleanup (PDM and Agile)
Check state and revision of files in Agile and update PDM state.
Request quotes from suppliers.
Create requisitions (Oracle)
Track orders (Excel)
Manage top-level BOM (Excel)
Retrieve packages and stock parts
Generate derivative files for Agile (Custom tools & SolidWorks)
Drawing checker (SolidWorks)
PCO release parts (Agile)
PCO release BOMs (Agile)
SolidWorks library work (SolidWorks)
Add configurations and details to design tables.
Rename model files.
Reference Agile for component information.
Mechanical Engineer (Experienced/Senior). Communication skills very important.
Participate in WBS and project plan development for assigned in concert with Mechanical and Electrical engineering managers
Participate in electro/ mechanical subsystem requirement definition and reviews based on system requirements
Develop concepts supporting initial electro/ mechanical subsystem requirement definitions based on system requirements; support refinement as needed
Participate in Reviews approving subsystem requirements
Create conceptual design that accommodates a given industrial design, and utilizes as much re-usability from previous product versions as possible
Hold/ participate in subsystem level concept Technical Review with R&D and manufacturing to obtain feedback and gain approval to move to detail design; include proposed manufacturing technologies, DFA, DFT considerations, cable routing/ dressing considerations
Detail design using Solidworks version 2016 for the mechanical design, SolidWorks or AutoCad for Cable and harness drawings. All aspects of the design must conform to design guidelines
Hold/ participate in detail Technical Review with R&D, Manufacturing, and other core team members as necessary to gather detail design feedback and approval to move to prototype builds
Utilize current supply base and spearhead early supplier involvement discussions to ensure design meets good manufacturing practices per commodity
Develop with support a unit test plan and define how many prototype units to build
Procure material and build prototypes
Prepare unit test plans, execute, release reports
Support development electro/ mechanical reliability test fixtures based on product reliability plan:
Concept design based on duty cycle and MTBF provided by client
Hold Technical Review with R&D to gather feedback and approval to proceed to detail design of fixtures
Complete detail design using Solidworks 2016
Hold technical review with R&D for approval to proceed with procurement
Procure material to build all unique and duplicate test fixtures. Note: there will be instances where material exists in stock and stock transfers are required
Support/build all test fixtures, including the use of calibrated measurement equipment
Support development of test fixture validation plan, perform validation, complete validation report
Release fixture design and documentation into client PDM system
Support Client Reliability engineer during testing, update fixtures as required
Bring the electro-mechanical design to pre-production release in Agile supporting validation, and release to production after all design transfer deliverables are satisfied (first article support, work instruction reviews, etc).
