SDET Engineer

Job Title: SDET Engineer Location: Remote Work Authorization: OPT only (W2 only)

Experience: 6+ Years Bill Rate: $30/hr

About the Role

We’re looking for a strong SDET Engineer with a solid background in test automation for modern JavaScript applications. You’ll be building automation frameworks from scratch, modernizing existing test suites, and helping drive quality across the CI/CD pipeline. This is a great opportunity for someone with a deep understanding of frontend testing tools and a strong handle on both code quality and visual validation.

Key Responsibilities:

Build and maintain test automation for JavaScript-based web apps

Design QA automation strategies and testing frameworks

Refactor and modernize existing test suites

Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented automated test code

Define and execute test plans, scripts, and test methodologies

Create test scripts from wireframes, comps, and requirement docs

Own quality control across CI/CD processes and pipelines

Collaborate with creative and development teams on wireframes/mockups

Align testing with project timelines, milestones, and deliverables

Ensure compliance with system security, data privacy, and integrity standards

Review team test plans to meet security and privacy requirements

Occasionally perform manual testing on Storybook components and log bugs in JIRA

Mentor junior team members and share best practices

Required Skills & Experience:

5+ years in QA automation

3+ years testing JavaScript applications

Strong experience with Rest Assured

Proficient in JavaScript or TypeScript

Hands-on experience building frameworks using:

Playwright

Cypress

Jest

Cucumber

WebdriverIO or similar

Experience testing reusable web components (Storybook, CSS, HTML, Lit-html)

Skilled in automated visual testing using Applitools with JavaScript/TypeScript

Able to write, configure, and debug automated visual tests in CI/CD (Jenkins)

Familiar with version control systems like GitHub
