About the role
In this role, you will be the leading technical contributor responsible for enhancing and maintaining one or more Charles River IMS modules or components within an agile scrum team. You will provide engineering troubleshooting assistance to customer support teams and other development teams within Charles River. Key Responsibilities: - Independently analyze, design, develop, test, and debug large and complex software enhancements and solutions within Charles Rivers business and technical domains - Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Managers to create simple and sustainable software solutions for complex problems - Provide thought leadership in product architecture design within and beyond the teams scope - Resolve advanced software technical issues for projects or major phases of projects - Develop, test, debug, and implement software programs using Java, C#, SQL, JavaScript, or other related software engineering languages - Experience in developing cloud-native services, microservice architectures, Kubernetes, Kafka, and message-based systems - Familiarity with Snowflake and SQL - Provide guidance during code reviews, write unit and automation tests, and contribute to improving development test methodologies - Conduct manual tests to ensure high-quality end products - Assist team leaders in the agile software development process Qualifications: Education: - B.S. degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related technical field. MS degree strongly preferred Work Experience: - Minimum of 10 years of professional software engineering experience - Minimum of 6 years of experience in financial services developing solutions for Portfolio Management, Trading, Compliance, etc. - Strong experience with object-oriented programming, compiler technologies, relational databases, scripting languages, and new programming languages - Excellent problem-solving abilities for high-performance database applications - Demonstrated ability to design simple software solutions for complex problems - Outstanding written and verbal communication skills - Experience working with an Agile development methodology for at least 5 years About Charles River Development: Charles River Investment Management System is a platform that provides Front-Office functions including Portfolio Management, Compliance, Wealth Management, and more.
