Founding Lead Engineer / Head of Engineering Location: Chennai (Preferred) | Bengaluru | Hyderabad | Remote The Mission Healthcare data today is broken, fragmented, and locked in PDFs or paper. Were changing that. We are an experienced founding team building the AI-first personal health platform for Indiatransforming messy, scattered medical records into a unified, lifelong, intelligent health passport for families. Were not building a maintenance team or wrapping basic APIs. We are solving core systems challenges around document intelligence, data interoperability, LLM orchestration, and high-concurrency cloud architecture to scale to millions. The Role We are looking for an exceptional, hands-on Founding Lead Engineer / Head of Engineering to own our product execution from 0 1 and beyond. You will work directly with the founders to turn first-principles system design into production code, set the engineering culture, and build our technical foundation from the ground up. What Youll Own 0 1 Architecture: Design and build scalable, secure backend services, microservices, and distributed databases from scratch. Document & AI Pipelines: Architect multi-modal ingestion pipelines (OCR, document processing, IDP, and search/retrieval) to convert unstructured medical files into structured health graphs. Production Engineering: Set up CI/CD, DevOps, security protocols, and testing frameworks to maintain rapid velocity with zero downtime. Product Execution: Write production-grade code every day while making strategic architectural trade-offs between speed and scale. Culture & Scale: Hire, mentor, and lead the core engineering team as we transition from early stage to scale. What Were Looking For 815+ years of rock-solid software engineering experience with a track record of building production systems. 0 1 Builder: Proven experience shipping products from blank slate to scale. Backend Mastery: Deep proficiency in system design, cloud-native architecture (AWS/GCP), API design, and distributed databases. High Ownership & Velocity: A bias for action, default-to-execution mindset, and the ability to operate effectively with high autonomy. Healthcare domain experience is a bonusnot a requirement. Curiosity, technical depth, and velocity matter far more.
