About the role
Subsidiary Steel Dynamics Overview
Responsible for electrical maintenance in various locations of the mill and ancillary equipment working a 4 on 4 off 12-hour rotating swing shift.
Responsibilities
-
Leader in locking out equipment and assuring that all maintenance work is done safely.

Troubleshoot electrical equipment problems, repair and maintenance of electrical equipment.

Perform preventative maintenance and installation of new electrical equipment.

Assist millwrights and operators with daily maintenance work.
Qualifications
-
Required
-
At least 5 years working as an electrician or technician in a manufacturing environment
-
Knowledge of power distribution, AC/DC motors, motor control and motor drives
-
Experience with PLC’s, drives and HMI software
-
Skilled at troubleshooting, problem solving and installation of electrical equipment
-
Preferred
-
Good working knowledge and understanding of Siemens PLC’s and software
-
Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC's and Rockwell software
-
Low, medium and high voltage equipment experience
-
Metallurgical process understanding
-
Formal electrical, automation and/or IT training
