About the role
Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Lead Power BI Developer with 10+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, and Microsoft Power Platform. The ideal candidate will lead the development and implementation of enterprise Power BI solutions while providing technical leadership, project management support, and production support for business-critical reporting applications. Key Responsibilities Lead the design, development, and deployment of enterprise-level Power BI dashboards and reports. Gather and analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable BI solutions. Design and optimize data models using Star and Snowflake schemas. Develop advanced DAX measures, calculated columns, KPIs, and Power Query (M) transformations. Integrate Power BI with SQL Server, Azure, Excel, SharePoint, APIs, and other enterprise data sources. Optimize report performance, data refresh schedules, and overall solution efficiency. Implement Row-Level Security (RLS), governance, and best practices. Mentor and guide junior developers while conducting code reviews and technical design discussions. Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, QA teams, and project managers throughout the project lifecycle. Project Management Support Assist Project Managers in planning, tracking, and delivering BI initiatives. Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and Agile ceremonies. Track project milestones, risks, dependencies, and action items. Prepare project status reports and support stakeholder communications. Coordinate UAT, release planning, and production deployments. Production Support Ticket Management Provide L2/L3 production support for Power BI applications. Handle incidents, service requests, and change requests using tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar ticketing systems. Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive solutions. Monitor scheduled refreshes and troubleshoot production issues. Ensure SLA compliance and timely resolution of support tickets. Coordinate with infrastructure, database, and application teams for issue resolution. Required Skills 10+ years of overall IT experience. 6+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI. Strong expertise in: Power BI Desktop Power BI Service DAX Power Query (M Language) SQL Server T-SQL Data Modeling ETL Concepts Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, or Microsoft Fabric is preferred. Strong knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts. Experience with CI/CD, Git, or Azure DevOps is an advantage. Preferred Qualifications Microsoft Power BI Certification is preferred. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. Proven experience leading technical teams and delivering enterprise BI solutions.
