About the role
Role Overview: As an IBM AS/400 (IBM i) Operations Analyst, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the daily operation, monitoring, and support of the AS/400 environment. This includes focusing on the success of nightly backup processes, maintaining system integrity, and providing security administration. Additionally, you will be required to provide timely fulfillment of application-level security access for the Infor BPCS system. Key Responsibilities: - Perform Month-End, Quarter-End, and Year-End processing activities. - Monitor and ensure the successful completion of nightly backup jobs using BRMS, ROBOT, or equivalent backup tools. - Review backup logs, job queues, and system messages to proactively identify and resolve failures. - Perform root cause analysis and implement preventative measures for recurring issues. - Escalate complex issues to appropriate teams or vendors as needed. - Process and manage user access requests within IBM i and BPCS environments. - Create, modify, and remove user profiles, ensuring compliance with security policies. - Provide operational support for the BPCS application. - Troubleshoot user-reported issues related to BPCS processing and access. - Maintain operational procedures, runbooks, and backup documentation. - Ensure adherence to IT security policies, compliance standards, and audit requirements. Qualifications Required: - 5+ years of working as an AS/400 (IBM i) Operations Analyst or equivalent. - Hands-on experience with backup solutions (e.g., BRMS and/or ROBOT) and recovery procedures. - Strong knowledge of IBM AS/400 job management, system commands (CL), and troubleshooting techniques. - Experience administering user security (profiles, authorities, object-level security). - Experience with tape libraries and backup hardware management. - Familiarity with BPCS or similar ERP systems preferred. - Good communication, interpersonal skills, and a team player. - Proficiency in the English language required.
