Senior Backend Engineer

As a Senior Backend Engineer (Java + Spring AI) with 10+ years of experience, you will be responsible for independently designing, building, and owning enterprise-grade backend systems. The role is Java-first, with Spring AI as the primary GenAI integration framework. Key Responsibilities: - Strong Java backend background with expertise in object-oriented programming, multithreading, concurrency, and database interaction & persistence - Hands-on experience with Spring Framework and Spring AI - Proven ability to design systems independently, make architectural decisions, and own features end-to-end - Experience working as a Senior Individual Contributor / Tech Lead-level engineer and comfortable with minimal direction and high ambiguity - Exposure to GenAI / AI systems, integrating LLMs into backend services, and understanding of prompt engineering, RAG, and vectorization concepts - Building backend systems from scratch, designing and developing backend APIs, event-driven systems, and enterprise-grade services - Integrating GenAI capabilities using Spring AI and owning services from design to deployment Qualifications Required: - 10+ years of software engineering experience - Hands-on experience with Java and Spring Framework - Exposure to GenAI / AI systems and Python experience for AI workflows (Java is primary) - Ability to learn new AI concepts quickly is valued over theoretical depth Additional Company Details: The company focuses on hiring Java-first engineers with strong backend fundamentals who can operate independently without hand-holding.
