About the role
Role & responsibilities Design, develop, and unit-test customizations and extensions in D365 F&O using X++, following Microsoft's extension-based development model (no overlayering). Develop and maintain integrations using Data Management Framework (DMF), OData, custom services, Dual-write, and Azure-based integration patterns (Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Service Bus). Build and enhance reports using SSRS and support Power BI / embedded analytics requirements. Perform code reviews, enforce coding standards, and ensure adherence to Microsoft best practices and ALM processes (Azure DevOps, build pipelines, version control). Support version upgrades, One Version updates, and code uplift activities. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in production environments under AMS/SLA-driven support engagements. Translate functional design documents (FDDs) into technical design documents (TDDs) and provide accurate effort estimates. Optimize performance (query tuning, batch framework, indexing) and manage LCS/Dynamics Lifecycle Services activities including environment management and deployments. Collaborate with onshore/offshore teams and communicate directly with international clients (US, Europe, ANZ, Middle East). Mentor junior developers and contribute to internal capability building and reusable assets Preferred candidate profile 8+ years of total experience with strong X++ development on Dynamics AX 2012 and/or D365 F&O (minimum 4+ years on D365 F&O). Strong grasp of D365 F&O architecture: extension framework, event handlers, chain of command (CoC), forms, tables, classes, workflows, security framework. Hands-on experience with Data Entities, DMF, OData, and at least one integration project with external systems. Experience with Azure DevOps for source control, builds, and releases. Solid understanding of at least one functional domain (Finance, SCM, Manufacturing, or Retail) sufficient to work independently from FDDs. SSRS report development experience. Experience with LCS: environment servicing, package deployment, issue diagnostics. Strong debugging, performance-tuning, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for direct client interaction.
