About the role
Role & responsibilities Lead requirement-gathering workshops, fit-gap analysis, and business processmapping with client finance teams (CFO office, controllers, AP/AR/GL teams). Configure and deliver core D365 Finance modules: General Ledger, Accounts Payable,Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Cash & Bank Management, Budgeting, CostAccounting, and Financial Reporting. Design solutions for multi-entity, multi-currency, and multi-country deploymentsincluding intercompany accounting, consolidations, and statutory/tax localizations(India GST, US sales tax, VAT). Prepare high-quality Functional Design Documents (FDDs), functional specificationsfor customizations and integrations, and configuration documents. Drive data migration for finance (opening balances, open transactions, master data)including validation and reconciliation with client teams. Plan and execute CRP/SIT/UAT cycles, cutover activities, and go-live and hypercaresupport. Support pre-sales activities: solution demos, effort estimation, and proposal inputs. Handle SLA-driven incident resolution and enhancement delivery on AMS engagements. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and review the work of a team of functional consultants (25 members)across projects. Own workstream planning: task allocation, effort tracking, quality review ofdeliverables, and status reporting to project managers and client stakeholders. Act as escalation point for functional issues within the finance track. Build internal capability: training plans, reusable templates, and best-practicedocumentation. Contribute to hiring screening and interviewing functional candidates. Preferred candidate profile 8+ years of ERP functional consulting experience with strong focus on Dynamics AX2012 / D365 Finance (minimum 4+ years on D365 F&O), including at least 3 full-cycleimplementations in a lead or senior role. Deep hands-on expertise in D365 Finance modules: GL, AP, AR, FA, Cash & Bank,Budgeting, and financial dimensions/ledger structures. Strong accounting fundamentals ability to converse fluently with CFOs, controllers,and auditors on accounting treatment, period close, and reporting. Experience with Electronic Reporting (ER), Financial Reporting (ManagementReporter), and tax configurations including India GST localization. Proven experience writing FDDs and working with technical teams (X++ developers)on customizations and integrations. Experience with LCS, Azure DevOps (backlog/task management), and structuredimplementation methodologies (Sure Step / FastTrack). Demonstrated team leadership: managing consultants, reviewing deliverables, andowning a functional workstream end to end. Excellent client-facing communication and workshop facilitation skills withinternational clients (US, Europe, ANZ, Middle East). Added Advantage (Preferred) Exposure to Project Management & Accounting (PMA), Procurement & Sourcing, orSCM-Finance touchpoints (landed cost, inventory accounting). Power Platform exposure: Power BI for finance analytics, Power Automate for approvalworkflows, Power Apps. Experience with Dual-write / Dataverse integration scenarios. Microsoft certifications: MB-310 (D365 Finance Functional Consultant); MB-300 aplus. CA / CA Inter / CMA / MBA (Finance) background. Experience in regulated industries (life sciences/pharma 21 CFR Part 11environments) or AMS/managed-services delivery.
