About the role
- We are seeking a highly skilled Energy Storage Engineer to support utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across the US. - The role involves system design, integration, performance analysis, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable, protected, and cost-effective energy storage solutions. - The candidate will work closely with US clients, utilities, and OEMs to ensure compliance, efficiency, and timely project execution. Key Responsibilities - Design and develop utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) for grid-connected projects - Define system architecture including batteries, inverters (PCS), transformers, and balance of plant (BoP) - Perform system sizing, capacity calculations, and performance modeling based on project requirements - Develop single-line diagrams (SLDs), electrical layouts, and system schematics Coordinate integration with renewable sources (solar/wind) and grid interconnection systems - Specify and select key components including battery technologies (Li-ion, LFP), PCS, EMS, and transformers - Design and review control systems, including EMS (Energy Management System) and SCADA integration - Develop protection schemes, grounding, and safety systems for BESS installations Ensure compliance with US codes and standards (NEC, NFPA 855, IEEE, UL standards, local utility requirements) - Support fire safety design, thermal management, and hazard mitigation strategies - Prepare engineering drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications - Review vendor designs, equipment submittals, and contractor documentation - Support permitting, interconnection applications, and regulatory approvals - Participate in design reviews with US clients, consultants, and stakeholders - Manage engineering deliverables aligned with US project timelines - Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and testing - Analyze system performance and recommend optimization strategies - Identify and resolve technica .
