About the role
As a Database Administrator (DBA) with 6+ years of experience, you will be responsible for the administration of PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, and MS SQL Server databases across on-premises and cloud platforms. Your main tasks will include installation, configuration, maintenance, performance tuning, backup & recovery, replication, high availability, and production support of enterprise database environments. Key Responsibilities: - Install, configure, administer, and maintain PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, and MS SQL Server databases. - Perform backup and restore operations using pgBackRest, pg_dump, mysqldump, Percona XtraBackup, and SQL Server backup utilities. - Implement and manage High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions including Streaming Replication, Patroni, GTID Replication, AlwaysOn Availability Groups, Log Shipping, and Failover Clustering. - Monitor and optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, execution plan analysis, partitioning, and vacuum/analyze tuning. - Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, patches, and consolidation activities. - Configure and manage monitoring and alerting tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, pgAdmin, SQL Server Profiler, SCOM, and SolarWinds. - Implement database security best practices including user/role management, SSL, encryption, TDE, auditing, and database hardening. - Provide L2 production support, troubleshoot database issues, and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA). - Collaborate with development teams on schema design, SQL reviews, stored procedures, and query optimization. - Perform capacity planning, storage management, and ensure database availability and reliability. Qualification Required: - Strong experience in PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, and MS SQL Server administration. - Expertise in Backup & Restore strategies and tools like pgBackRest, pg_dump, mysqldump, Percona XtraBackup. - Hands-on experience in Replication, Clustering, High Availability, and Disaster Recovery. - Strong SQL, T-SQL, and PL/pgSQL programming skills. - Experience with AWS RDS, Aurora PostgreSQL/MySQL, Azure PostgreSQL, Azure SQL, and GCP Cloud SQL. - Experience in Performance Tuning and Query Optimization. - Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, pgAdmin, SQL Server Profiler, SCOM, and SolarWinds.
