Location : Bangalore,Yelhanka Opportunity : Fulltime Work Mode : WFO(5 Days)Shift : General Shift Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Test Engineer with hands-on experience in OS Installation and component testing. The ideal candidate will have robust expertise in manual and automation testing, solid understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems, and practical experience with PowerShell scripting to support test automation, system validation, and troubleshooting. Key Responsibilities - Design, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scenarios for OS installation and related components. - Perform manual testing of OS installation workflows, upgrades, configurations, and recovery scenarios. - Develop and enhance automation test scripts for OS installation and post-installation validation. - Validate OS images, installers, drivers, patches, and system configurations across multiple hardware and virtual environments. - Create and maintain PowerShell scripts for test automation, system checks, log collection, and failure analysis. - Test and validate OS behavior on Windows and Linux platforms, including boot processes, services, updates, and configurations. - Identify, log, track, and retest defects; collaborate closely with development and system teams for resolution. - Perform regression, smoke, sanity, and compatibility testing for OS installation components. - Analyze logs, installation failures, and system issues to provide clear defect reports and root cause insights. - Contribute to continuous improvement of test processes, tools, and automation frameworks. - Preferable who already worked in Philips. Required Skills and Qualifications - Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). - 36 years of experience in software testing, with strong focus on OS installation or system-level testing. - Proven experience in manual and automation testing. - Strong working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems (installation, configuration, troubleshooting). - Hands-on experience with PowerShell scripting for automation and system validation. - Experience with at least one automation framework or tool (e.g., custom frameworks, Selenium, PyTest, or similar system-level automation tools). - Solid understanding of software testing methodologies, SDLC/STLC. - Experience working with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, VirtualBox, or similar) is a plus. - Familiarity with version control systems (Git, Azure DevOps, etc.). Preferred Qualifications - Experience with OS deployment tools (e.g., PXE, unattended installations, imaging tools). - Knowledge of shell scripting (Bash) in addition to PowerShell. - Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution. - Experience testing drivers, firmware interactions, or hardware-dependent OS features.
