Java Developer | Spring Boot, REST APIs & SQL

Job Summary Synechron is seeking a capable and collaborative Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications. This role emphasizes strong back-end development using Java and Java EE, complemented by front-end collaboration as needed. The successful candidate will contribute to architectural decisions, drive feature delivery, and support modern delivery practices to enable business growth and digital transformation.

Software Requirements

Required Skills (Essential) Proficiency in Java and Java EE platforms for enterprise application development

Experience with web development frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, or JSF

Knowledge of RESTful APIs and microservices concepts

Strong SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases (MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server)

Experience with version control systems (Git) and collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence)

Understanding of SDLC/Agile methodologies and working in cross-functional teams

Experience with build tools (Maven or Gradle)

Preferred Skills Cloud deployment experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)

Testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito) for back-end; Jest/Enzyme for front-end (if applicable)

NoSQL databases and data warehousing concepts

Familiarity with microservices architecture and API gateways

Overall Responsibilities Develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications and APIs aligned with business requirements

Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code; participate in code reviews

Collaborate with product managers, UX teams, and back-end developers to design integrated solutions

Optimize application performance, reliability, and security across environments

Contribute to architecture discussions and ensure alignment with enterprise standards

Support CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment processes

Maintain comprehensive documentation, including architecture, deployment procedures, and technical specifications

Mentor junior developers and promote knowledge sharing and best practices

Preferred: JavaScript/TypeScript for front-end collaboration; Python for scripting or automation

Security Protocols Essential: Secure coding practices and data protection basics

Experience Requirements 4+ years of practical experience in Java development for enterprise systems

Proven ability to deliver scalable applications and APIs

Experience working in Agile teams and contributing to CI/CD initiatives

Cross-functional collaboration with product, QA, and operations teams

Banking or regulated industry experience is a plus but not mandatory

Alternative pathways: extensive project experience, relevant certifications, or notable contributions to Java-based platforms

Day-to-Day Activities Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Java

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and plan iterations

Write, review, and test code; perform unit and integration testing

Troubleshoot production issues and optimize performance and security

Participate in planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives

Contribute to architecture discussions and deployment documentation

Mentor junior developers and share knowledge across teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

• 4+ years of hands-on Java development experience

• Certifications in Java or cloud platforms are advantageous
