Global Head of AI and Engineering

Role Overview: As the Global Head, AI & Engineering at Syneos Health, you will be responsible for leading the global AI & Engineering sub-function, which includes AI, software, data, and quality engineering capabilities to support enterprise technology and business strategy. Your role involves delivering top-notch AI, data, and engineering solutions within the defined AI & Engineering function to enable scalable and high-quality applications used by users across the organization. You will partner closely with digital and technology product teams to translate enterprise priorities into effective engineering execution that accelerates medicines and vaccines development and enables patient access. Your accountability lies in executing, scaling, and ensuring operational excellence of AI-infused applications at a global scale, aligned with established enterprise strategy and technology direction. Additionally, you will lead a high-performing global engineering organization, participate in customer discussions, and represent functional expertise in industry forums to stay current on industry trends and inform execution decisions within the AI & Engineering domain. Key Responsibilities: - Develop a best-in-class engineering organization by attracting, developing, and retaining engineering talent across all disciplines including AI, software, data analytics, quality, testing, and agile facilitation within the global AI & Engineering function. - Manage and scale a team of technology professionals, continuously upskill the organization on new technologies, and lead communities of practice to support execution of enterprise priorities. - Partner with digital and tech product leaders to understand priorities, manage demand, provide work estimates, and maintain product roadmaps within the AI & Engineering domain. - Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the site-based team, ensuring local execution aligns with global technology standards and priorities. - Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the CDIO LT, provide regular updates on performance, delivery progress, risks, and opportunities to CDIO executives, and ensure compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, and company policies within the scope of the AI & Engineering function. - Drive innovation within the team, continuously assess and improve site processes, and promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the site. Qualifications: - Experience in global technology or operations leadership roles with accountability for leading a global function or sub-function through multiple layers of leadership. - Proven track record in leading cross-functional teams and delivering complex end-to-end technology projects at a global scale. - Ability to transform legacy technology and digital teams and lead a high-performing team with diverse talent. - Strong leadership and team-building abilities, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in technology management, project delivery, and risk mitigation. - Minimum 4-year Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field, preferred Graduate Degree in a related field.
