AI/ML Data Engineer – Financial Data Optimization

Job Summary:

Client is seeking a skilled AI/ML Data Engineer to support a large-scale finance optimization initiative focused on automation, data modernization, and AI enablement.

This role will partner closely with finance and technology teams to design, build, and scale intelligent solutions that improve efficiency, accuracy, and insights across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Partner with finance stakeholders to analyze and optimize high-volume processes, including ~5,000 journal entries.

• Design and implement AI-driven solutions, including LLM-powered agents, to automate complex data extraction and workflows.

• Build, enhance, and maintain data models in Snowflake to support accurate and timely financial reporting.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (software engineering, data engineering, and business teams) to deliver scalable solutions.

• Leverage the Azure tech stack to design and deploy cloud-based data and AI solutions.

• Ensure data quality, integrity, and usability across multiple business units and product lines.

• Provide thought leadership on how AI can be effectively applied within finance operations

• Experience:

• Strong experience in data engineering and/or software engineering with exposure to AI/ML.

• Hands-on experience building or working with LLMs and AI agents.

• Proficiency with Snowflake and modern data modeling practices.

• Experience working within Azure cloud environments.

• Ability to work cross-functionally and translate business needs into technical solutions.

• Experience with data pipelines, transformation tools, and automation frameworks.

• Nice to have:

• Background or experience working in finance or accounting environments.

• Familiarity with financial systems, journal entries, or financial reporting processes.

• Experience with or exposure to Alteryx or similar analytics tools.

• Prior involvement in EPM system implementations or migrations.
