About the role
Position Overview
As part of an Agile squad, the Senior Software Engineer III will design, develop, and implement new features while maintaining high-quality standards. The role requires strong mainframe expertise along with modern engineering practices and active participation in continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement new application features
Maintain and enhance existing mainframe applications
Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint goals
Perform code reviews and follow best practices
Support testing, migration, and production issue resolution
Document technical solutions and share knowledge across teams
Ensure compliance with security and risk management policies
Required Skills
Strong experience in Mainframe technologies (COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM)
Application development and migration experience
Testing and Agile business analysis exposure
Proficiency in SQL and relational databases
Understanding of full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
Experience with Git/GitHub or similar version control tools
Preferred Skills
Card processing platforms (TSYS, Mastercard)
SAS knowledge
Snowflake tools (DBT, Switchboard, Elevate)
ETL processes and sFTP file transfers
QA experience
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Knowledge of security best practices and networking fundamentals
