Director Of Engineering

As a Director - Engineering, you will be responsible for leading large-scale engineering teams and driving end-to-end delivery of enterprise-grade solutions. Your role will involve strong ownership from customer requirements through production deployment. Key Responsibilities: - Own the full software development lifecycle from requirement gathering to design, development, testing, deployment, and post-production support. - Ensure timely delivery with high quality, scalability, and performance. - Lead, mentor, and scale multi-functional engineering teams. - Drive hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development. - Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous learning. - Set clear goals, KPIs, and performance expectations. - Provide architectural direction across modern technology stacks (Java preferred). - Ensure best practices in coding, design patterns, and system scalability. - Conduct design and code reviews to maintain engineering excellence. - Oversee sprint planning, execution, and delivery. - Ensure predictable, efficient, and high-quality release cycles. - Collaborate with business, product, and global stakeholders. - Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions. - Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams. - Manage risks, dependencies, and delivery timelines. - Ensure adherence to quality standards, SLAs, and cost efficiency. - Track and improve delivery metrics and team productivity. - Oversee CI/CD pipelines, release management, and production stability. - Ensure smooth deployments and quick resolution of production issues. Qualifications: - 9 to 17 years of experience in software engineering with strong delivery and team management experience. - Proven track record in leading large engineering teams (10+ members / multiple squads). - Strong experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and Sprint-based delivery models. - Exposure to global delivery environments / international stakeholders. - Strong understanding of system design, scalability, and performance optimization. - Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and DevOps practices. - Java, Spring Boot, Microservices experience is preferred (not mandatory). - Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills. Qualifications: - Bachelors degree in Engineering (B.Tech / B.E.) in Computer Science, IT, or related field. - Masters degree (M.Tech / MS) preferred.
