Custom Software Engineers ( SE1 and SE2 ) Locations : Indore, Coimbatore, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhubaneshwar, Pune Experience Range : SE1 : Total 4 to 6 years with minimum 3 + years in SAP ABAP on HANA SE2 : Total 6 to 8 years with minimum 5+ years in SAP ABAP on HANA Project Role Description: Develop custom software solutions to design, code, and enhance components across systems or applications. Use modern frameworks and agile practices to deliver scalable, high-performing solutions tailored to specific business needs. Must Have Skills: SAP ABAP Development for HANA Summary As a Custom Software Engineer, your typical day involves designing, developing, and enhancing tailored software solutions within SAP environments to support evolving business requirements. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical solutions, and deliver scalable, efficient, and high-quality software components. The role requires applying modern development frameworks and agile methodologies while continuously improving software performance, maintainability, and reliability to support critical business operations. Roles & Responsibilities - Expected to perform independently and become an SME. - Required active participation/contribution in team discussions. - Contribute in providing solutions to work-related problems. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into technical specifications. - Design, develop, enhance, test, and maintain SAP ABAP applications and custom software components. - Develop and maintain custom reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, workflows, and other SAP ABAP objects. - Optimize existing software components to improve application performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability. - Perform debugging, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and performance tuning of SAP ABAP applications running on SAP HANA. - Ensure delivery of high-quality, scalable, maintainable, and well-documented software components aligned with coding standards and best practices. - Participate in Agile software development activities including sprint planning, code reviews, testing, and continuous integration. - Document technical designs, development processes, and implemented solutions to support knowledge sharing and future maintenance. - Assist junior team members by sharing knowledge, providing technical guidance, and promoting development best practices. - Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and stay updated with SAP innovations, tools, and methodologies. Professional & Technical Skills - Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in SAP ABAP Development for HANA. - Strong experience in developing and enhancing SAP ABAP applications and custom software components. - Strong understanding of Object-Oriented ABAP (OOABAP) and ABAP programming concepts. - Experience in developing Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows (RICEF). - Experience in developing and optimizing applications on SAP HANA, including performance tuning and code optimization. - Strong understanding of SAP HANA database concepts, data modeling, CDS Views, and ABAP Managed Database Procedures (AMDP). - Knowledge of SAP enhancement techniques including User Exits, Customer Exits, BAdIs, and Enhancement Framework. - Experience with IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, ALV Reports, Smart Forms, Adobe Forms, and SAP Transport Management System (TMS). - Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA development concepts and up-to-date ABAP programming practices. - Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, Git or other version control systems, and coding best practices. - Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues independently. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and functional teams. .
