Chief Manager Power Generation Risk EngineerRole Summary We are looking for an experienced Power Generation Risk Engineer responsible for conducting technical risk assessments of thermal, hydro, gas-based, renewable, captive, and cogeneration power plants. The role will support underwriting, reinsurance, loss prevention, and risk improvement initiatives through detailed technical evaluations. Key ResponsibilitiesConduct physical, virtual, and desktop risk surveys of operational and under-construction power plants.Review power generation processes, plant layouts, equipment configurations, utility systems, maintenance practices, protection systems, and operational controls.Assess critical power plant equipment including boilers, steam turbines, gas turbines, generators, transformers, switchyards, cooling systems, fuel handling systems, water treatment plants, ash handling systems, hydro turbines, solar PV systems, wind turbine generators, and battery energy storage systems.Identify machinery breakdown, fire, explosion, electrical, operational, natural catastrophe, and business interruption risks.Evaluate maintenance practices, protection systems, critical equipment, single-point failures, and long-lead replacement items.Prepare technical risk assessment reports, PML/MFL/NLE/MAS estimates, loss scenarios, and risk improvement recommendations.Provide technical support to underwriting, claims, and reinsurance teams.Review project schedules, testing & commissioning procedures, critical path activities, long-lead equipment, and delay-in-start-up exposures for projects under construction. Experience Required510 years of experience in the power generation industry.35 years of experience in risk engineering, insurance risk assessment, loss prevention, plant safety, or technical underwriting support preferred.Hands-on experience in thermal/hydro/gas/renewable power plants. QualificationBachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Power, or Energy Engineering. Preferred CertificationsNPTI CertificationCertified Energy Auditor (CEA)Certified Energy Manager (CEM)Boiler Operation Engineer (BOE) Key SkillsStrong understanding of power plant operations, machinery, electrical systems, fire protection, maintenance, and risk assessment.Ability to review plant layouts, P&IDs, single-line diagrams, equipment datasheets, and maintenance records.Strong technical report writing, analytical, communication, and presentation skills.Willingness to travel to project and plant locations.
