About the role
Job Title: Windows Desktop Architect Level 3 Experience Required: 10–15 years in End-User Computing (EUC), Windows Desktop Engineering, and Enterprise Workplace Architecture. Location: Bangalore Role Summary: The Windows Desktop Architect L3 is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise-scale Windows desktop environments. This role focuses on architecting secure, scalable, and automated workplace solutions, improving the digital user experience, and leading modernization initiatives across the Windows ecosystem. Key Responsibilities: Design and architect enterprise Windows desktop platforms (Windows 10/11) aligned with organizational standards. Lead large-scale OS deployment and migration projects using modern management technologies. Develop and maintain gold images, device configuration baselines, and automation workflows. Architect solutions using Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune, SCCM/MECM) for provisioning, patching, and policy management. Drive modernization initiatives such as Autopilot , cloud-managed endpoints, and Zero Trust security. Oversee application packaging, delivery, compatibility testing, and virtualization (App-V/MSIX). Collaborate with security teams on endpoint hardening, compliance, and vulnerability remediation. Provide L3/L4 technical expertise, root cause analysis, and performance optimization. Create architectural documentation, standards, and governance frameworks. Evaluate and implement emerging technologies (Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, UEM enhancements). Required Skills & Competencies: Deep expertise in Windows OS architecture , registry, GPOs, and troubleshooting techniques. Strong experience with Intune, MECM/SCCM, Autopilot , and endpoint compliance. Proficiency in PowerShell scripting , automation, and configuration-as-code approaches. Experience in desktop imaging , driver management, application lifecycle management. Knowledge of Azure AD, Conditional Access, MFA, Zero Trust principles . Familiarity with AVD, Windows 365 Cloud PC , and virtualization technologies. Strong documentation, solution design, and cross-functional leadership skills. Ability to handle escalations and act as a technical SME for EUC architecture. Preferred Qualifications: Microsoft certifications (MD-102, MS-102, AZ-104, AZ-140, SC-series). Experience in large, complex enterprise environments (10,000+ users). Exposure to ITIL processes and service delivery frameworks. Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Excellent communication and stakeholder management. Ability to lead projects and mentor engineering teams.
