About the role
As a Mechanical Engineer with 8-14 years of experience, you will be leading the design of high-precision device enclosures, hinges, and internal structures. Your responsibilities will include end-to-end mechanical development, from CAD design and mechanism engineering to prototyping and production support, ensuring performance, manufacturability, and compliance with quality standards. Key Responsibilities: - Lead mechanical design for device enclosures and mechanisms, covering both chassis and internal structure development. - Design high-precision covers and structural elements, ensuring engineering, aesthetic, and manufacturability standards are met. - Work with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and innovative mechanical solutions for top-tier product performance and user experience. - Design housing parts such as A-Cover, C-Cover, D-Cover, and other elements, producing detailed 3D CAD models and 2D drawings with required features. - Design complex hinge systems and moving parts with controlled torque/friction characteristics for easy opening/closing and longevity. - Design internal frames, brackets, and reinforcement features to secure PCBs, connectors, and modules within the device. - Communicate part designs and requirements, review supplier tooling designs, and support manufacturing ramp-up by resolving build issues and qualifying engineering changes. - Ensure all mechanical designs meet required quality standards and regulatory compliance, driving continuous improvements based on lessons learned. Qualifications Required: - B. Tech / B.E Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering - Strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles, mechanisms, tolerance stack-up analysis, and GD&T - Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and drafting, experience with FEA/CAE tools, and competence in tolerance analysis software - Familiarity with PLM/PDM systems for revision control and Bill of Materials management - Experience in consumer electronics or precision enclosure design/manufacturing is a plus - Knowledge of high-volume production and quality standards, industry regulations, and compliance for mechanical components The company values excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, strong leadership, problem-solving aptitude, customer focus, adaptability, and the capacity to work under tight deadlines.
