As a Vehicle Level Test Engineer - Android Automotive, your role is critical in validating HMI applications and headless services in real vehicle environments and production-like setups. You will focus on end-to-end validation, system stability, and cross-application impact analysis to ensure production readiness. Key Responsibilities: - Perform rigorous testing of Android Automotive HMI applications and headless services on actual vehicles and vehicle simulators/HIL setups. - Validate real-world scenarios including driving conditions, network variability, and vehicle state changes. - Design and execute detailed test cases covering functional and non-functional scenarios, ensuring comprehensive coverage across IVI features. - Validate integration with Tier-1 components, middleware, vehicle signals, telematics systems, and connected services. - Compare and validate builds across development, quality assurance, and production environments. - Identify, log, and track vehicle-level defects, perform root cause analysis, and share detailed test reports. - Work closely with HMI developers, QA teams, Android framework teams, Tier-1 suppliers, and integration partners. Required Skills & Expertise: - Strong experience in vehicle-level testing and validation with real vehicles, HIL setups, and simulators. - Deep understanding of automotive testing methodologies and Android Automotive (AAOS). - Knowledge of vehicle communication protocols, vehicle systems, Tier-1 ecosystem, and middleware integration. - Strong debugging skills using ADB, Logcat, Dumpsys, and ability to analyze cross-layer issues. - Experience in test case management tools and strong documentation skills for detailed reporting. Good to Have: - Experience with automation tools for vehicle-level validation and knowledge of CI/CD pipelines. - Exposure to performance testing in real vehicle environments and familiarity with OTA updates. - Understanding of multi-display systems such as Cluster, IVI, and HUD. Key Metrics of Success: - High defect detection rate at vehicle integration level. - Minimal production defects post-release. - Consistency across DEV, QA, and PROD environments. - Reduction in integration-related regressions. - Quality and clarity of test reports and insights. What You'll Work On: - Validation of Android Automotive IVI systems in real vehicle environments. - End-to-end testing across HMI, system services, and vehicle integrations. - Ensuring production readiness for next-generation connected vehicle platforms. - Collaboration across OEM, Tier-1, and platform teams.
