About the role
Key Responsibilities Design and develop shock absorbers, struts, and suspension components for passenger and commercial vehicles Perform RFQ analysis , feasibility studies, and prepare concept layouts (2D/3D) Create and modify CAD models and drawings , ensuring GD&T compliance and manufacturability Conduct engineering calculations (load, gas force, friction, tolerance stack-up, spring stiffness) Collaborate with CAE/FEA teams to improve design performance and durability Support prototype development, validation (DVP/PVP), and testing activities Prepare and manage BOMs, ECR/ECM, and engineering documentation Participate in DFMEA, DRBFM, and design reviews to ensure quality and reliability Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing teams for feasibility and cost optimization (VAVE) Perform benchmarking and teardown analysis for competitive evaluation Ensure compliance with customer standards and regulatory requirements (IMDS, etc.) Support customer interactions, technical discussions, and project execution Key Skills Strong knowledge of automotive suspension systems (struts, dampers, springs) Understanding of damper functioning, valve stack basics, and ride performance Proficiency in CAD modelling and drafting (3D & 2D) Good understanding of DFMEA, DVP, tolerance stack-up, and GD&T Exposure to product lifecycle management and change management (ECR/ECM) Knowledge of materials: sheet metal, plastics, rubber, sintered and forged parts Basic understanding of NVH, durability, and vehicle dynamics Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills Ability to work with cross-functional and global teams Tools & Software Required CAD Tools: UG NX, CATIA V5, Creo, SolidWorks PLM Tools: Teamcenter, SAP Simulation/Analysis (Exposure): Adams Car, FEA tools Other Tools: MS Excel (automation/macros preferred), IMDS systems
