About the role
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: . Design FMEA Facilitator: o Evaluation and tracking of regional FMEA related skills and prepare and manage FMEA engineering competency matrix. o Arrange, manage and conduct FMEA training, ensure training material remains current and representative to Tenneco's standards. o Ensure project teams follow Tenneco standard DFMEA procedures and apply the templates and tools effectively. o Ensure DFMEA content quality, consistency of nomenclature, and normalization of scoring across all projects. o Develop and maintain a DFMEA database to manage document maturity and versioning. o Develop and maintain (KPI) metrics on status, completeness, and quality of project DFMEA documents. o Track and deploy lesson learned from projects and feedback into the generic DFMEA content. . Accountable for ensuring DFMEA's for all projects are completed to Tenneco FMEA standards and quality. Includes the tracking of risk metrics and managing a DFMEA action tracker for each project team. . Follows the Tenneco launch process timing to ensure project DFMEA document meets the required maturity level in accordance with each program gate. . Work extensively as a mentor to provide guidance and training to engineering teams. . Support failure analysis and problem-solving activities to ensure DFMEA documents reflect risk identifiers. . Help project teams to ensure standardization of scoring, risk ranking, application of classification identification, and ensure quality and consistency of defined controls and actions. . Reviews Design Change Notices and ensures FMEA document change process is followed to assess design change risk as needed with the Design Release Engineer. . Creation of DFMEA report for respective project Design and Manufacturing Sign-Off meetings . Lead system/subsystem/component generic DFMEA initiatives in conjunction with Global Systems Engineering team . Advocate for the NA regional team during the implementation of new AIAG/VDA DFMEA standards. . Manage and maintain Tenneco FMEA software tools and templates and develop strategies for conversion into customer specified FMEA formats. . Conduct continuous improvement activities such as template management, new methods development, and integration of industry standard FMEA process enhancements. . Interface with customers as the lead Tenneco FMEA expert to ensure alignment. . Other duties as assigned. SOFTWARE SKILLS NEEDS: . Plato e1ns FMEA Tool . DFMEA Excel Worksheet Tools HARDWARE NEEDS: . Minimum requirement is a Bachelor of Engineering with at least 2 years experience. . Automotive Engineering background . Knowledge on AIAG VDA FMEA Handbook Process and SAEJ1739 FMEA Process . Strong written and verbal communication skills . Understanding of OE Customer CSRs . Adheres to industry standards, company procedures and customer requirements.
